Where victory is most prized, with victory being defined as dominating the supposed conclusion of the conflict, achieved by shouting down or browbeating the adversary into retreat or admission of their error. In our current real-time, pundits are paid multiple millions of dollars and afforded great forums on mass media to shout down their dissenters and call that behavior debate. Others don't even claim their diatribes to be a debate, but willingly admit they are indoctrinating their audience with their dogma.
Most concerning of this fact is a generational continuation of these behaviors. When people are youthful, they lack the experience needed to provide them with enough contrasting examples to give them an understanding of how varied life actually is. This lack of experience leads them to accept opinions or facts that seem obviously correct to them at their level of understanding, and adopt them as hard and fast rules of reality. As time passes they may or may not consider that those rules may be less than 100% accurate, but if they are constantly indoctrinated by pundits who, shut out voices of dissent, do not entertain debate, or shout down those they debate with, the truth remains hidden from a much greater portion of the populace.
