These things allow for significant advancement of our culture, but also impede the fullest advancement possible in the strict adherence to them. The simple act of complete adherence and reverence for the standard limits the recognition and acknowledgment of valuable instances of accuracy and opportunity for improvement. Rigidity and blind faith to the finality and perfection of an established standard would have us mired in outdated and obsolete modes of existence. We are lucky, freedom and incentive give opportunity for improvement, or we would have no printing press or thousands of other advancements made over the course of history.
